    Husk the corn, and steam over hot water for about 2 minutes.

I'm amazed that there are only grilled corn on the cob recipes in this NYT file-this one by Ms Burros is the only one not calling for grilling! As a cornhusker from Nebraska how about just an old-fashioned easy recipe? Put the corn in a large pan of boiling water-boil for 1 minute then let sit, covered for 10 minutes. Adding 1-2 tsp of sugar to the water instead of salt keeps the sweetness in ( farmer's wife taught us that).
