Ingredients

Yield:4 cups
  • 132-ounce bottle ketchup
  • 1cup dark molasses
  • tablespoons Tabasco sauce
  • medium-size onions, chopped fine
  • 1large green pepper, chopped fine
  • ½cup lemon juice
  • 1teaspoon garlic powder
  • tablespoons dry mustard
  • 3tablespoons white vinegar
  • ¾cup packed brown sugar
  • ¼cup liquid smoke
  • ¼cup Worcestershire sauce
  • ½cup water

Preparation

  1. Step 1

    Combine all ingredients except water in a large, heavy pot.

  2. Step 2

    Pour water into empty ketchup bottle and swirl around. Pour into pot.

  3. Step 3

    Bring mixture to a boil, stirring constantly. Reduce heat and simmer two hours.
