Tyler Drinkwater of the West Village restaurant Dell’anima has proved how well wine, rum and bitters can work together. This drink is named after the Italian city where residents re-enact the Battle of the Oranges and pelt each other with the fruit.

Ingredients

  • 1slice each of lime
  • 1slice lemon
  • 1slice orange
  • 3dashes Hella Bitter citrus bitters
  • 2ounce light rum
  • ½ounce Campari
  • Enough sparkling Moscato to "float."

Preparation

  1. Step 1

    In a mixing glass, muddle the fruits.

  2. Step 2

    Fill with ice, add the other ingredients and shake.

  3. Step 3

    Strain into a highball over ice.

  4. Step 4

    Float the Moscato on top. Garnish with a lemon twist.
