- 10ounces brussels sprouts, washed and trimmed
- 1½teaspoons sugar
Preparation

Steam the sprouts for about 10 minutes until they soften but are still crunchy. Drain, cut into quarters or halves, and place in serving bowl with the sugar. Stir to dissolve the sugar.

Why on earth add sugar?!
Boil in abundant salted water for 8-10 minutes, drain, dry quickly in same pot over high heat (15 seconds or less), dress with butter and black pepper to taste. Serve.
